Manual Installation of the 8255X Driver If Windows 98 SE has already been installed on your hard drive, it may be necessary to manually install the 8255X driver. To install the driver follow the steps below. 1. On your computer open ‘MY COMPUTER’, from there open the ‘CONTROL PANEL’. 2. Double click the ‘NETWORK’ icon. 3. From the ‘NETWORK’ menu, deselect ‘ADD’, then select ‘ADAPTER’ and ‘ADD’.Windows NT (Version 4.0) Windows NT 4.0 includes drivers for the on-board LAN, and video adapters. The following steps are required to configure the LAN for operation. 1. Follow the normal Windows NT 4.0 installation until you reach the Windows NT Workstation Setup window which states that Windows NT Needs To Know How This Computer Should Participate On A Network. 2. Place a dot next to This Computer Will Participate On A Network. 3. Place a check mark next to Wired To The Network and click Next. 4. In the next screen, click the Select From List button. 5. Click the Have Disk button.
